Role Summary

Aptitude Intelligent Integration, a division of JE Dunn Construction, is a Master Building Systems Integrator that offers technology design and project management for smart building construction and renovation. Originally started in 2018 as 'Smart Building Solutions' to meet modern buildings' complex needs, Aptitude has grown quickly and has emerged as a leader in the smart building world. The Senior Marketing Specialist will join a small but mighty team of marketers working to take Aptitude's rapid growth and success to the next level. The individual who fills this position will proactively create marketing content, project proposals, presentations, assist in data management, plan events, programs and other activities as necessary. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and brand aesthetic of Aptitude and JE Dunn. 

 

The successdul candidate will enjoy working both collaboratively and independently, be proactive and comfortable making recommendations and decisions while keeping supervisor informed, be a detail-oriented, deadline-driven project coordinator, strong writer, creative, and enjoy a professional yet friendly work environment.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

  • Creates a variety of content (social posts, emails, blogs, case studies, presentations, videos, etc.) to contribute to overall brand growth. 
     
  • Helps maintain and update marketing collateral resource library for fellow teammates to use in their presentations, proposals, client conversations, etc. 
  • Assists Aptitude team members with regular requests for assistance with marketing and communication needs, branded merchandise orders, event assistance, etc. 
  • Assists in the development of Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Qualification (RFQ) responses, which could include writing, producing resumes and project profiles, setting up meetings, developing graphics, proofreading, making edits and printing/packaging to ensure submission by deadline.  
  • Develops content for presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint or Adobe presentations, brochures, leave-behinds) for project pursuits and other purposes.  
  • Develops other unique marketing deliverables as requested, ensuring corporate identity is maintained.  
  •  Updates marketing information within the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other marketing data systems. 
  • Supports planning and coordination and/or attends events such as trade shows, conferences, client events and in-house planned activities.  
  • Captures and edits video assets as needed. 
  • Writes and creates a variety of communications using brand guidelines, AP and company style guides, brand voice, and templates created by the internal Creative team (using Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint, etc.). 
  • Contributes digital assets to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.  
  • Demonstrates commitment to the highest standards of internal client satisfaction by displaying courtesy and sensitivity and promptly responding to internal client needs. 
  • Manages difficult or emotional internal client situations promptly and efficiently.  
  • Recognizes and acts upon service opportunities.  

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

SENIOR MARKETING SPECIALIST

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

  • Schedules social media posts, oversees paid social campaigns, and assists with monitoring social traffic and analytics. 
  • Contributes to website content updates via WordPress and assists with monitoring web traffic and creating analytics reports. 
  • Partners with other departments/teammates to strategize and create unique marketing collateral, ensuring corporate identity is maintained. 
  • Supports the national brand as a brand ambassador; follows brand governance and aligns marketing materials and pursuits with the appropriate messaging, aesthetic, tone and voice.  
  • Works closely with teammates to create marketing responses for large, complex pursuits; including managing marketing workflow, deadlines, working with subject matter experts to collect and decipher key information, writing, and overall proposal production using provided templates and tools. 
  • Coordinates project and company photography and helps maintain photography library. 
  • Assists in the development of project case studies and writes blogs.  
  • Gathers competitive information and conducts market research to effectively market the brand.  
  • Researches the company’s competitors and assists in providing analysis.

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills and familiarity with AP style. 
  • Familiarity with marketing systems such as HubSpot, WordPress, and Meltwater (Preferred)

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism or related field (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

 

Experience

  • 5+ years marketing, communications or public relations experience (Preferred)
  • Experience working in the AEC or Tech industries (Preferred)

Working Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Typically travel is not required
