Leading Others

J.E. Dunn is seeking a Regional Quality Director for our East Region operations. We are looking for a client focused, team player who can influence and lead the quality culture throughout the Region. The ideal candidate is well-rounded in construction means-and-methods and has the skills of an educator to promote company and industry-wide best practices.

• Inspires and facilitates an environment of effective communication, teamwork and recognition throughout the work program.

• Resolves complex and sensitive issues, coaching others towards effective problem solving, continuous improvement and problem prevention.

• Communicates vision and strategy, articulating the relationship between corporate plans and the goals and performance of the work program and individual employees. Leads and inspires team performance and productivity in alignment with broader work program and corporate goals and plans.

• Provides feedback and coaching to support team and individual employee performance, learning and career development.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

QUALITY DIRECTOR FAMILY - CORE

  • Implements, manages and ensures compliance with QA programs and methods.
  • Ensures compliance with the Company Quality Program.
  • Provides timely analytical information on quality issues to Regional executives, marketing and other internal and external customers. This includes data associated with claims and warranty items.
  • Attends pre-construction and operational meetings to discuss quality-related matters and offer solutions with an eye toward standard policies procedures and best practice construction methods across the Company.
  • Designs, leads, and conducts quality training for Regional quality team members.
  • Uses internal quality systems and tools to develop reports for tracking Project/Field Supervisor/Quality team performance.
  • Leads the investigation on serious or catastrophic warranty/claims on projects within the Region.
  • Collaborates with other quality professionals nationwide to monitor quality trends and provide recommendations.
  • Provides Regional input on Company-wide quality standards, program development, training and other quality-related processes and initiatives.
  • Utilizes internal quality assurance systems and tools to prepare reports for field superintendents, project managers and subcontractors detailing compliant and non-compliant quality conditions.
  • Conducts routine consistent communication/updates with supported project leads.
  • Collaborates with marketing team on related presentations and marketing activities.
  • Provides Regional evaluations of subcontractor quality performance.
  • Authors publications for Company communication.
  • Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.  Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written (Advanced).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced).
  • Ability to conduct effective presentations (Advanced).
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, building codes and other technical product and material data (Advanced).
  • Knowledge of material and field testing for QA processes (Advanced).
  • Knowledge of QA procedures for a variety of construction conditions.
  • Ability to recognize non-compliant conditions and investigate corrective measures.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Education
  • Bachelors’ degree in architecture, construction management or related field (Preferred).
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 12+ years construction quality-related experience (Required).
  • 5+ years mentoring or team leadership experience (Required).
  • 2+ years budgeting or financial management experience (Required).
