Role Summary

The Logistics Foreman will provide routine and non-routine support to day to day logistics operations.  This position will be responsible for managing one or more drivers/mechanics, incoming and outgoing equipment and material orders, equipment maintenance, professional customer interaction and maintaining accurate records.  In addition Logistics Foreman will work with other Logistics employees to ensure that the accuracy of equipment/material transfers, proper organization of fleet/inventory and a safe and positive work environment.  All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

  • Autonomy & Decision-Making:  Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

LOGISTICS FOREMAN FAMILY - CORE

  • Administers transactions in fleet/inventory counter operations, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Oversees and performs deliveries and pick-ups of equipment and material to and from jobsites, vendors, and other logistics centers, utilizing company delivery vehicles abiding by all safety regulations.
  • Sets distribution schedule for local Logistics operations to include deliveries to jobsites, incoming equipment and material orders, and returns from jobsites.
  • Oversees maintenance of all equipment and inventory fleet by internal mechanics or external repair facilities.
  • Provides timely response through phone calls from internal and external customers and vendors for routine information related primarily to equipment and material transactions.
  • Organizes and consolidates incoming and outgoing equipment and inventory loads and validates transfer tickets to ensure accurate transactions.
  • Ensures that all delivery/maintenance vehicles are well maintained and cleaned.
  • Oversees the organization and maintenance of warehouse facility.
  • Assists with Inventory and Fleet cycle counts and controls.
  • Provides Logistics Operations with information relating to job chargeable repair activities.
  • Makes recommendations to logistics operations to ensure appropriate inventory levels and equipment readiness.
  • Communicates and makes recommendations to Logistics Operations for fleet/inventory purchases and rotations.
  • Assist in updating Logistics Catalog including photos, labels, locations, descriptions of equipment and inventory items.
  • Proactively alerts management on issues involving policy, operating procedures and legal issues related to Logistics
  • Actively participates in the Logistics continuous improvement plan by identifying inefficiencies in the current process and voicing potential improvements.
  • Provides suggestions and participates in drafting Small Win communications.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled safety meetings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Capable of operating a forklift or other distribution equipment
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely
  • Ability to follow-up on inquiries in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written - Basic
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Basic
  • Basic understanding of internal equipment management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to identify common construction materials and equipment
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics operations including: warehouse organization, storage of goods, traffic flow and the fulfillment process from start to finish
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally

Education

  • High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered

Experience

  • 5+ years warehouse or delivery management experience (Preferred)
