ROLE SUMMARY

The Network Intern will assist with support and maintaining information tech network systems.  This position will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and automating network operations. Analyze and troubleshoot issues, make initial repairs, and perform necessary tuning and optimization. 

  • Autonomy & Decision-Making:  Makes decisions on non-routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor, and refers all exceptions to supervisor.
  • Career Path:  Network Analyst.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

NETWORK INTERN - CORE

    • Helps with the creation, testing and/or modification of systems based on system design specifications.
    • Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
    • Assist with asset management of enterprise inventory, excluding end user devices.
    • Develop and test runbooks for automation tasks.
    • Assist with generating health, capacity, and performance reporting as requested and designated by upper management.
    • Report incidents, trending and uptime statistics.
    • Manage system lifecycle including upgrades and decommissioning.

OTHER ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
