Role Summary

The IT Campus Mobility Intern will primarily assist with mobile device management, moving employees from one cell phone carrier to another, ensuring the end users corporate mobile device (iPhone and/or iPad) are working properly, processing support tickets that are mobility related, updating and keeping our asset management database up to date and completing smaller projects as assigned. This elongated intern position (~12 months) is ideal for a recent or soon-to-be college graduate with strong communication skills and a solid foundation of technology experience with an emphasis on the Apple iOS operating system (iPhone and iPad). The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment, and be eager to learn and grow through hands on experience with the latest technologies, IT solutions, and senior IT staff. Reporting to the IT Asset Manager, the IT Mobile Device Management Intern will serve as a key component of a small but mighty team that manages over 2,200 corporate cell phones across Verizon, T-Mobile, and ATT carriers.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

  • Assists end users with activations, problems and requests for company mobile devices, including moving between carriers as well as new line provisioning, phone ordering and provisioning.
  • Assist the End User Support Manager and Asset Manager in maintaining mobile device inventory through an asset database.
  • Act as a liaison with mobile carriers and vendors of mobile device hardware and software (Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile, Apple etc.).
  • Work with users in backup and restore of their phones, installation and configuration of software, phone replacements as well as upgrades, and ensuring proper apps and mobile device enrollment is done properly.
  • Update documentation, policies and processes as needed
  • Assist Asset Manager with hardware inventory tracking, barcoding and reconciliation.
  • Assist Asset Manager with software asset management, contract renewal, and software license reconciliation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Preferred experience with providing effective and efficient real-time support for a variety of mobile technology with a strong focus on iOS (iPhones and iPads).
  • Preferred experience administering a Mobile Device management system, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Multi Factor Authentication a big plus.
  • Preferred experience supporting mobile devices in an enterprise setting, with technical troubleshooting and hands on experience with mobile devices on iOS a big plus.
  • Can handle a significant workload and stay on top of everything with minimal direction.
  • Preferred experience with Sprint, ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile carriers for line activations and deactivations.
  • Preferred experience with hardware and software asset management applications.
  • Self-Starter that thrives on learning then being self sufficient and proactive to help the employees of this company.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong people skills with an orientation towards customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritize projects and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated continuous learning / growth mindset.

Education

  • Recent or soon to be new graduate of a related field of study

Experience

  • Preferred experience in mobile device management, but not required.
