Role Summary
The National Process Excellence Director leads the strategy, governance, and organizational capability required to define and document current and future processes and procedures to maximize efficiency, ensure scalability & deliver operational excellence across JE Dunn’s Operations teams. Working across a wide group of stakeholders, this role will take a holistic approach for end-to-end process & workflow streamlining, alignment, documentation, training, adoption, continuous improvement, and communication, creating a clear and consistent foundation for how our Operations teams work together across the company. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Leads process and change initiatives across our national footprint, driving continuous improvements that maximize efficiencies in project execution and operational excellence
- Establishes goals, tracks & monitors short & long-term improvements, provides status updates, and works across stakeholders to achieve intended outcomes
- Leads, documents, and tracks results for the operational efficiency effort to increase efficiency within our operations teams by 5% year over year
- Focuses heavily on improving and streamlining the software, tools, processes, and resources our operations teams use.
- Partners with L&D to ensure proper technical training is provided, utilized and effective for our operations teams.
- Provides business processes and workflow standards to L&D, Knowledge Management, Lean and IT teams; In partnership, trains, certifies and updates process & workflow knowledge
- Works closely with the Construction Operations and Operations Oversight teams to develop and implement a dynamic business process management strategy across our Operations organization
- Evaluates and approves change requests initiated by departments that affect operations teams prior to implementation by IT and sets priorities for IT implementation of new initiatives to ensure a continual increase in operational efficiency.
- Responsible for expertise and understanding of stability in current processes and agility for future processes
- Owns ongoing communication across stakeholders to ensure alignment and adoption
- Leads the Process Excellence, Knowledge Management, and Operations process training functions, ensuring collaboration across those teams to continuously optimize and maintain accurate workflow & process documentation
- Optimizes our process repository and employs a variety of best practices to maintain and advance the Knowledge Management system
- Empowers Operations teams to achieve our Key Strategic Initiatives (KSIs) through process adoption & adherence

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Knowledge of most types of construction projects and delivery methods – Advanced
- Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy – Intermediate
- Knowledge of relevant business process standards, modeling, and simulation tools
- Fluent skills and experience with tools such as: PowerPoint and Power BI
- Thorough knowledge of organizational processes, functional departments, and how company success is achieved
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business management, or related field (Required)
- In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- 12+ years of related business process improvement (Required)
- 5+ years of experience in Construction or Business Operations (Preferred)
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- May require periods of travel
- Normal office environment
