Role Summary

The Tax Analyst will assist with the tax reporting and administration for the organization. This position will be responsible for assisting the Tax Manager(s) by interpreting tax regulations and preparing tax returns and supporting documents to help ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal tax regulations. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

  • Autonomy & Decision-Making: Makes decisions on assigned areas of responsibility, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor, as needed.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

TAX ANALYSIS FAMILY – CORE

  • Assists with preparation of federal, state, local, and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial information.
  • Drafts simple partnership tax returns, sales/use tax returns, and property tax returns for managerial review.
  • Assists with tax audits and inquiries from various jurisdictions within the United States.
  • Performs tax analysis and research related to tax planning initiatives and audit activities.
  • Assists the Tax Manager with audits on internal controls for accuracy.
  • Collaborates with the Tax Manager to track the organization’s income, sales/use, and property taxes and reconciles tax data on financial statements.
  • Assists with planning and executing various tax projects.
  • Performs research and drafts technical tax memorandums.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (Required)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 2+ Years tax accounting experience (Required)
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience (Preferred)

Working Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Typically travel is not required
  • Normal office environment
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
  • Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder
