Mobile Crane Mechanic (Union)

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

MOBILE CRANE MECHANIC FAMILY - CORE

  • Performs routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic equipment inspections, and repair operations on breakdowns for mobile crane and pump equipment per manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns on site or over the phone with Field Operations using effective communication skills.
  • Documents accurately (on paper or digitally) completed maintenance and repairs on mobile crane equipment.
  • Communicates in a timely manner with internal and external business partners by answering phone calls and responding to emails for maintenance related questions.
  • Orders parts for equipment repair utilizing the internal process. Determines correct parts using the manufacturers’ requirements and specifications.
  • Receives, organizes, stores, and distributes mobile crane, pump, and other logistics supplies as needed.
  • Guides business partners to the proper maintenance bays.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to follow-up on inquiries in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to learn the internal operating/accounting system for data entry
  • Ability to identify common construction materials and equipment
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance operations including: engine oil changes, hydraulic pump and cylinder functions, diesel engine operations, basic electrical functions of cranes and automotive undercarriages
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent (Required)
  • Apprentice program or Vocational/Technical degree with hydraulics and heavy equipment repair emphasis (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 2+ years diesel mechanic or crane maintenance experience (Preferred)
