Role Summary
The Belonging & Marketplace Engagement Manager will work closely with senior leadership to strengthen a culture of belonging and drive marketplace engagement. This role is responsible for supporting inclusive business practices that expand opportunities for small and emerging businesses, including women- and minority-owned firms, in alignment with JE Dunn Construction’s strategic objectives. The position will also lead initiatives that reinforce JE Dunn’s culture and participate in efforts to proactively identify, engage, and attract a broad pool of qualified talent based on skills, experience, and job-related qualifications. All activities will be carried out in alignment with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
BELONGING & MARKETPLACE ENGAGEMENT MANAGEMENT FAMILY – CORE
- Develops and maintains close working relationships with company leadership to align activities with the priorities for the Company.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with small and emerging businesses and community organizations to support sourcing for projects and opportunities.
- Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis using internal tools and reports.
- Develops and implements best practices that strengthen belonging and inclusion, including workplace initiatives that support key strategic priorities.
- Identifies and tracks small and emerging contractors, vendors, and suppliers with the capacity to support company goals, and educates them on the tools, processes, and requirements needed to qualify for work with JE Dunn.
- Assist project teams in the development of specific project plans/efforts to achieve workforce and business participation goals. Lead regular check-in meetings to ensure progress. Produce required documentation, reports, and deliverables to achieve targeted project goals.
- Work with preconstruction teams, supporting efforts to identify and provide project opportunities for small and emerging contractors, vendors and suppliers. Assist with outreach, tracking and documentation.
- Collaborate and support project teams with planning, onboarding and coordination with small and emerging trade partners on JE Dunn projects as needed.
- Partners with Marketing/Business Development to respond to RFP requests and participates on project interview teams as needed.
- Actively participate with a broad range of community engagement events and activities.
- Develop relationships with office and field employees to promote belonging and inclusion across the organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with client and industry leaders focused on belonging and inclusion, representing JE Dunn’s industry leadership.
- Attend industry trade shows and conferences to engage industry stakeholders and increase brand awareness.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
- Partners with the Talent Acquisition team and college recruitment efforts to assist in the recruiting of a broad range of qualified candidates.
- Assist with corporate HR, to ensure federal, state and local regulatory compliance.
- Oversee partnerships and programs with small and emerging businesses, including our Marketplace Contractor Development (MCD) program to support long-term relationships and utilization.
- Lead quarterly meetings to inform and engage trade partners regarding upcoming opportunities to work with JE Dunn.
- Maintains knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Promotes awareness and understanding of BeME for all levels, instilling BeME awareness and practices into workplace culture.
- Assists in the development and implementation of training programs that foster belonging, inclusion, and retention initiatives.
- Maintains database of small and emerging businesses and organizations for community outreach purposes.
- Partners with key stakeholders and assigned leadership teams on creation of affirmative action plans and progress.
- Conducts actions in a professional and unbiased manner.
- Complies with all company and site policies and best practice standards.
- Continuously develops proficiency and understanding in the role.
- Maintains a professional appearance and workspace.
- Participates in and complies with all company safety and quality programs and procedures.
- Utilizes relevant JE Dunn technology to support all assigned responsibilities.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management or related field (Required)
- Training in contract compliance (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered
Experience
- 8+ years experience in diversity and inclusion- workforce and/or workplace practices (Preferred)
- Construction industry experience (Preferred)
Working Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- May require periods of overnight travel
- Ability to attend events in the evenings as needed
- Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs

Base compensation for the Belonging & Marketplace Engagegment Manager role in Minneapolis, MN is between $105,000 and $130,000, depending on experience, and may be more than this range for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive a target bonus based on both individual and company performance.
